Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)

Our Certified Nursing Aides are responsible for providing or assisting with all areas ADL’s as specified by the Home Health Aide Care Plan under supervision of our Registered Nurse staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide client services as approved by Director of Nursing, Designee, or RN on duty.

Provide personal assistance; (i.e., bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, etc.).

Take vital signs.

Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance.

Provide light housekeeping.

Perform active and passive range of motion exercises on clients.

Administer pre-packaged medications and document.

Participation in client care activities.

Document care provided as directed by plan of care.

Report pertinent changes or needed changes in client condition or client care plan to RN on duty or Director of Nursing.

Provide safe, clean therapeutic environment for clients.

Assist in maintaining a clean, professional working environment.

Assess environmental hazards; report to Director of Nursing or Designee.

Maintain positive interpersonal relations with clients, clients’ family and staff.

Attend staff meetings and in-services.

Maintain personal hygiene and dress code standards.


Qualifications

Must hold a current Certified Nursing Aide Certification issued by the State Board of Nursing. Colorado has a mandatory Nurse Aide Practice Act, which means that no one may practice as a Certified Nurse Aide without obtaining certification. Certification within four months of obtaining employment as a nurse aide is required.

CPR certification of CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Home Health experience preferred.

The aide must have the ability to perform all skills taught in the aide certification course, demonstrate the desire to learn, and have good communication skills.


Physical Requirements

Exert 0-50 lbs. of force frequently

Exert negligible amount of force constantly

Lift, carry, push, pull, stand, walk, sit, twist, bend, reach,
and crouch for up to 30 minutes at a time.

Possess visual and auditory acuity

Communicate effectively by speaking, reading, and writing English.


Special Requirements

Complete competency training prior to client contact.

Compensation

$10.00 per hour, Plus Shift Differential
